President's Message 2008-2009

Many new ideas and challenges are forthcoming. Many that change the way we think and do business. These ideas will strengthen our membership; improve our relationships and more importantly give back to our community. We, as a chapter, aspire to grow to give and teach our chapter about green initiatives. We are growing, giving and going green!

We seek to GROW by obtaining new members, and new relationships. We want to acquire new members who are willing to step up and volunteer within our chapter. We are currently at 125 members and look forward to reaching 10 new members in the year ahead.  We will GROW!

This year, we are out to “Meet to Change the World”. We must share in this concept which involves our Corporate Social Responsibility for MPI on a local level.  In order to succeed in business today, companies will be forced to embrace their Corporate Social Responsibility and we, as MPI members and leaders must embrace our responsibility to GIVE back to our community, GIVE back to the planet.  We must use our meetings as a platform to teach our partners & companies about CSR. We will GIVE back to our community!

Part of this reform is being responsible to our planet. We must, as leaders set an example and “meet GREEN”. We have to see CSR in action  from hybrid technology on buses to transport our attendees, to  recyclable registration bags,  hydration centers  instead of bottled water and other easy ways in meetings we can “go GREEN ”.  We must teach our local MPI chapter and leaders to “go green” in their meeting concepts as well. The only reason to meet or have meetings is to communicate, discuss and promote ideas, and create change within our world.  If we do not believe this…why meet?

If not you, then who?  We each must believe that we can and will change the world. This begins here and now on a local level that will inspire on an international level, eventually leading to a global level. We will, in the year ahead meet to “Change our World’. 

I want to thank you again for your commitment to our Chapter. We have many tasks before us, but we are all in this together and I know we will continue to raise the MPI North Florida Chapter to new levels and celebrate another stellar year.  I am honored to serve with you and for you!

Our initiative and our message is to GROW, GIVE back to our community and we will go GREEN in the 2008-2009 year ahead!
